The IRF3000 firewalls can be delivered individually pre-configured and plug ‘n’ play ready on request: This reduces the time you need to spend on commissioning to a minimum. Open interfaces on the firewall, which enable automatic import of configuration backups, provide for additional time savings during operation.

With the filigree customisable packet filtering rules, you can regulate communication up to layer 3 level (TCP/IP, UDP etc.) or configure it at layer 2 level (MAC, ARP etc.). Packet filtering rules are a proven tool for protecting stand-alone machines and interlinked systems from unauthorised access by unauthorised persons and cyber criminals. In addition, digital inputs on the IRF3000 firewalls facilitate management of packet filtering rules.

In combination with our IIoT Service & Maintenance Platform Big‑LinX^®, the firewalls in the IRF3000 series are also suitable for remote maintenance of your machines/systems. Alternatively, you can integrate OpenVPN and IPsec on the IRF3000 firewalls: This allows your service team to establish a secure connection to machines or systems via your remote maintenance infrastructure, and thereby respond quickly and efficiently as and when necessary – from anywhere.

The IRF3000 series firewalls integrate with open IoT protocols (OPC UA, Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP) and can connect to any 3rd party cloud via MQTT: This means that data can be made available for predictive maintenance, machine learning or other big data applications and graphically prepared. By integrating Docker technology, the IRF3000 series firewalls can also process data. This makes them complete edge devices and minimises expensive computing time in the cloud.

With the integration of OpenVPN and IPsec, multiple locations can be connected quickly and easily with the IRF3000 firewalls. Communication is fully secure across locations and data can be exchanged between the connected locations without any security concerns. This special feature of the IRF3000 firewall works independently of manufacturer: You decide which technologies or crypto procedures you want to use to connect your locations.

The high-performance hardware equipment and edge device functionality of the IRF3000 firewalls facilitates the processing and visualisation of past and present machine and system data. As a result, diagnoses can be made more quickly, forecasts and trends derived more precisely and recommendations for action formulated more easily – the ideal basis for needs-based and cost and time-saving maintenance.
