14. VDI Congress Automation

Round 150.000 engineers are member of the VDI, Europe's biggest association of engineers and technical scientists. The 14th VDI Congress Automation and its symposium Wireless Automation presented current Industrial Wireless solutions from 25 to 26 June 2013. The Congress House in Baden-Baden was offering interesting lectures on the trend theme „Automation in the cloud“ on both days.

ads-tec was two-time presenter at the VDI symposium. On the opening day the Wireless technologies were focussed in the lecture "Industrial WLAN – simple, quick and straightforward“. ADS-TEC expert Heinrich Merz gave an outline of how to reach seamless radio scope in the 2,4 and 5 GHz band with the high-performance Industrial WLAN Access Poins of the IWL3000 series as well as the RAP1000 and RAC2000 series by ads-tec.

The cloud based technologies have been a further emphasis of the VDI Congress. The possibility of making data accessible for everyone and to store it in the cloud is changing the premises of production more and more and is part of the concept of an "Industry 4.0". The security of machinery and plants therefore was in the focus of the second lecture by the ADS-TEC expert with the title „High security cloud based communication infrastructure for a worldwide Remote Maintenance and Remote Diagnose“ on Wednesday, 26 June 2013.
