Secretary of State for Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg honours ADS-TEC Industrial IT

In the ongoing competition "100 Places for Industry 4.0 in Baden-Württemberg " organized by the Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg, eight digitalisation solutions in the industrial production environment were awarded prizes by the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Tourism on 27 May. The award-winning products and solutions offer added value for digital networking, based on which the potential of Industry 4.0 can be fully exploited. Among the winners: ADS-TEC Industrial IT GmbH with its IIoT platform Big-LinX^®.

Innovative Industry 4.0 solutions
On 27 May 2022, Dr Patrick Rapp, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Tourism, awarded prizes for eight outstanding digitalisation solutions that Baden-Württemberg companies are implementing in their day-to-day operations and thereby putting Industry 4.0 into practice. This year's award winners also include ADS-TEC Industrial IT GmbH with its platform Big-LinX^®, a versatile tool for the remote maintenance of machines and plants. Marc Schmierer, network and IIoT expert at ADS-TEC Industrial IT, comments: "We would like to thank the Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg for this award. The whole team is very honoured that Big-LinX^® is one of the award winners". The statement of the Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg on the award winners is as follows: "Industry, SMEs and start-ups in (Germany’s) southwest are international leaders in the implementation of Industry 4.0. This award is intended to make already concrete and visible Industry 4.0 solutions that create added value even better known." Since the start of the open competition, a total of 200 award winners have been honoured for significantly improving the productivity of industrial business and manufacturing processes with innovative digitalisation solutions.
 
The IIoT platform with the World Wide Heartbeat
The IIoT platform Big-LinX^® from ADS-TEC Industrial IT is a versatile service & maintenance tool for the remote maintenance of machines and systems in industrial environments. A special feature of the ADS-TEC solution is the World Wide Heartbeat. This communication protocol developed by ADS-TEC enables IIoT data of connected plants and machines to be sent to the Big-LinX^® server and stored there in the respective database - without a VPN connection. "WWH uses an HTTPs for communication that ensures authentication by means of a software certificate or smartcard. Monitoring the machine and sending the data to Big-LinX^® is done via a secure data push," adds Marc Schmierer. These innovations, in combination with the firewall developed in-house, ensure that the machine network is securely protected, while making access by unauthorised persons virtually impossible.
